Assessments in education are crucial tools for measuring student learning, understanding, and progress. Mainly four types of assessments are there. they are practice-based, evidence-based, performance-based, and examination-based assessments

This type of assessment focuses on students applying their knowledge and skills in real-world settings. It is commonly used in fields like medicine, engineering, and teaching.

  • Encourages reflective learning.
  • Encourages continuous documentation of learning.

3. Performance-Based Assessment

Performance-based assessments evaluate students on their ability to demonstrate specific skills or competencies by completing authentic tasks.

  • Emphasizes higher-order thinking and application.
  • Focus on real-world tasks and problem-solving.

  • Summative in nature, often used for certification or grading.

Examples:
